It all started off at the age of 16 when I left school and didn't know which path to take, however I had obtained a good grade at school in Rural Science so I was drawn to something of this nature. I applied to Myerscough College, Garstang, Nr Preston and was accepted there to study NVQ 2 in Sportsturf and Maintanance. After a year at college I moved on to the NVQ 3 course but due to personal reasons I was forced to leave half way through the course.
When I left, I found myself at a cross road. Should I go down the Sportsturf route or the Landscaping route. My path was chosen when a job opening , all be it temporary,became available to me at Blackburn Rovers Football Club, the team I had always supported from a young age. I had worked there as a junior groundsman for 6 months when I applied for and got a full time position at Shaw Hill Golf Club, Whittle le Woods as a greenkeeper.Although I really enjoyed my work at Shaw Hill , after 2 years when a temporary job vacancy to work in Sweden became available I felt it in my best interests to apply. I got the job and went on to work for PGA National Golf Complex in Malmo, constructing a golf course.
When my contract in Sweden ended in 2009, I returned to the UK and with the knowledge and skills I had now acquired along the way, Wright Landscape came into fruition. Finally I knew for certain which line of work I wanted to pursue.
I undertake all areas of gardening. Mowing lawns, weeding, pruning, planting and feeding, hedge cutting, debris removal , reconstruction, mulching, water features and many more.
As well maintaining and landscaping gardens, because of my golfing experience I have recently designed an all weather artificial putting green in a customers garden. This is something that I really enjoyed doing and look forward to designing many more in the future.
